PPI-SA all geared up for the year in adidas!

This past week, a special delivery all the way from Washington, D.C. landed in PeacePlayers International – South Africa. We were fortunate enough to get over 200 adidas basketball kits for our participants and coaches.

The kits made their debut in UMlazi, at Cwebezela Senior Primary School. The participants were so excited and it was evident that these kits were a huge hit!

Another highlight for PPI-SA has been this past weeks games! The coaches and area coordinators have been doing a great job with managing the games and coordinating the games. We are three weeks into games and extravaganzas and its been great watching our coaches step up and improve! Below are the results from this past weeks games :

Bryan ‘Sakhile’ Franklin eThekwini Basketball Association MVP 2015

On a sad note, this week we bid a final farewell to Bryan ‘Sakhile’ Franklin, who leaves us after doing a two year International fellowship. We will remember him for his incredible work ethic and humanity, the great contribution he has invested in the Leadership Development Programme (LDP), and helping to inspire and empower young leaders in our programme. While in South Africa Bryan played for the PPI-SA Doves Mens Team taking home 3 championships, Easter Tournament at DUT in 2014 with Dove team; 3on3 tournament held in Pine Town and last year Doves were crowned eThekwini Basketball Champions and he was crowned Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the end his presence will be missed in all our communities, on and off the court! Bryan, we wish you all the best for your new post in PPI Global office in DC. “Hamba Kahle Sakhile”.
