Our “Dropping Dimes for Peace” Event Celebrates PPI in New York City

PPI Board and Alumni Program Directors with Executive Director Brendan Tuohey and Director of Operations Tal Alter. L to R: Brendan Tuohey, Sean Moran, Tim Roche, Justin Kidwell, Matt Minoff, Danny Ourian, Tal Alter and John Beatson.

On Monday, April 11th, PPI supporters in the greater New York area celebrated the inaugural  “Dropping Dimes for Peace” event at SNAP Sports Bar in Manhattan. The event not only brought together more than 150 of PPI’s friends and family to enjoy the evening, it also raised awareness and support for our programs worldwide. After viewing a Today Show piece on PPI, the event guests listened to Executive Director Brendan Tuohey tell stories from PPI’s ten-year journey and speak of the organization’s plans for growth.

In total, PPI raised $35,000 through ticket sales and a raffle, which included prizes ranging from Giants and Knicks tickets to dinner at trendy New York restaurants and guest passes to work out at Soul – Cycle.

SNAP Sports Bar played host to our party.

PPI would like to thank everyone who attended, the host committee, the support of our sponsors, Tribeca Treats (for the delicious cupcakes!), and our venue SNAP Sports Bar. We’ll be back in New York for a similar (and even bigger!) event next year!

PPI – SA Says Goodbye to Tim Roche

PeacePlayers International Fellow Tim Roche leaves South Africa at the end of this month after two years of great work with our program. Our other PPI Fellow in South Africa, Claire Perry, asked various members of the PPI-SA community to help us say goodbye by sharing their experiences with Tim in a video. We would like to say thank you to Tim and we wish him the best of luck.

Check out the video below:
