The Peace in the Middle East Concert Series Supports PPI in DC

The "Peace in the Middle East" Concert Series artists from left to right: Heather Lloyd, Monso, Sarah Lawson, Khaled and Sahffi.

Last night at Bus Boys & Poets in Washington, D.C., the second installment of the Peace in the Middle East Concert Series took place benefiting PeacePlayers International – Middle East.  The concert series, which aims to promote Peace between Arabs and Israelis, featured five talented acts:

Heather Lloyd beats her Ivorian drum for peace!

Heather Lloyd started the show off with Bob Marley cover before playing original material on her guitar and Ivorian drum that challenged her listeners to examine their own behavior in conflicts.

Next, Mosno and Sahffi  took to the stage with their combination of powerful voices and hard-hitting sounds that engaged the crowd in their apolitical message of peaceful interactions in our daily lives.

Sarah Lawson Slam Poet invited the audience into direct discussion of the issues in Israel and the West Bank by asking hard questions and examining her experiences in the region through poetry.

Khaled performs.

Khaled, the organizer of the event, gave us equally thought-provoking lyrics and a crowd-pleasing instrumental piece.

Finally, the concert closed with a group rendition of “Stand By Me.” With the initiative and support of these talented artists, PeacePlayers made $200! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the concert series; it is people like you that show us all how peace can be achieved by cherishing and developing the personal relationships we have with one another. We are so happy to have been included in your great work!
